Hi. I'm Sara. I'm your copy person.
Unless you’re just looking for a “storyteller.” Then please keep moving. Not because I can’t tell stories, but because every good writer should. It’s inherent. Or, it should be. And marketing copy is much bigger than storytelling. So if a writer has it in their bio: red flag. If a brand has it in the job description: double red flag. I’m interested in what the story does. The copy has a job. Attention matters. Engagement matters. So does what happens next. I've been writing professionally for big brands for more than 20 years, which is long enough to know that good copy usually isn't about adding more. It's knowing what matters, what's getting in the way, and, sometimes hardest of all, when to stop. For nearly nine years, I did that at REMAX. I built and led the in-house marketing copy team within Creative Services, hired and developed writers, created our internal style guide and voice standards, and directed B2B and B2C copy across the brand. I know how to write the work. But maybe more importantly, I can tell you why it's working—or why it isn't. I have a writer’s ear and an analytical brain. I can love a great line and still interrogate whether it's on strategy, on brand, and working for the audience. Too creative and the work can become clever without being useful. Too business and you get copy that checks every box except the one marked interesting. I live in the space in between. That's where great brands belong. I've worked in-house, agency-side, and independently across real estate, mortgage, sports, travel, retail, luxury, medical, and, yes, glass. (Architectural glass. Automotive glass. Windows and doors.) Give me the industry. I'll live it. And yes, I use AI. But here's an important distinction: I learned AI after I learned how to write. I have 20+ years of language, strategy, and creative judgment underneath the prompt. I've since trained multiple company LLMs on brand voice and tone adherence. I know what AI is good at. And I know when it's giving me slop. I don't outsource my judgment to it. And you shouldn’t either. AI can generate. Human discernment still has to come from somewhere. Still looking for a copy leader? You found one.
